Johan Lundgren stay's in Cracow
Johan Lundgren is staying at Wawel for longer! The Swedish striker signed a new contract with our Club, which will be valid in the upcoming season. Johan, we're glad you're staying with us!
Johan comes from Helsingborg, where he took his first hockey steps in a local club. As a junior, playing in the youth teams of Jonstrops IF and Rӧgle BK, he managed to win the Swedish U-18 championship. In 2015, he left Europe and went to the United States, where he competed in the North American Hockey League, representing Amarillo Bulls and Long Star Brahmas. . Overseas, in 61 games he scored 15 goals and made 25 assists.
After the season, he returned to his home country, where he played at the second and first levels. In 2019, he was loaned to Rӧgle BK, where he played three games in one of the strongest leagues on the Old Continent - the Swedish SHL. In 2021, he went to Denmark, where he spent two seasons as a player of Rødovre Mighty Bulls and Frederikshavn White Hawks.
Last year, Lundgren joined Cracovia. Wearing a red and white striped sweatshirt, he scored 21 goals and 19 assists in 46 games. This allowed him to become the team's most effective hockey player in the past campaign.
- I am happy that he is staying in Cracovia for another year. There is a new, exciting project coming up here and I believe it will be successful. Personally, I can't wait to be a part of it. The club, the fans and the city hold a special place in my heart and I am delighted to be able to play here, says the striker.
