Łukasz Hebda: I try to achieve my goal with persistence, determination and fortitude

- I try to achieve my goal with persistence, determination and fortitude - says Łukasz Hebda. We were speaking with Cracovia goalkeeper, who told us about the first weeks of preparations, the atmosphere in the locker room, his training and hopes for the next season.

'The feeling of well-being is positive. This year's preparations are very different compared to previous seasons. There is more running, which I certainly feel more strongly as a goalkeeper. The gym is nicely organized. The approach is individualized.'

'There is good chemistry in the squad and there are no conflicts. We will be able to say more when the players from Sweden arrive, but I don't think there will be any problems. There has always been good communication and atmosphere between us.'

'Even though I'm 24 years old, I'm still a kid as a goalkeeper. So I'm counting on more minutes in goal and a nice competition, either with Oskar Polak or Alex D'Orio. As for the team, the further we go, the better it will be. As many victories as possible, as few defeats as possible and zero injuries - these are the three key elements to think about success.'

'I want to play as much as possible to get those match minutes. At the end of last season, I played probably the most in my career in the Polish Hockey League.'

'I heard many times that "you defend well, but you are too short." Despite this, I am trying to achieve my goal with persistence, determination and fortitude, and so far I have succeeded.'

'I want to show them that with individual work you can achieve even more. I had a lot of coaches who helped me sign the contract, but I achieved it largely thanks to my work. I did a lot off the ice, training in the gym and analyzing my matches. The fact that you want to do it yourself means a lot and it is really worth spending time on it. In professional sports, it's not like you can do your training and come home, turn on your PlayStation, go out with your friends and do nothing. Our lives are so focused on sports that you have to constantly develop yourself. It doesn't matter if it's a holiday or not, you have to train, otherwise you won't be a good player.'
