Marek Ziętara: We did what we set out  to do in one hundred percent

- We did what we set out  to do in one hundred percent- says coach Marek Ziętara. In an interview, Comarch Cracovia's trainer summed up the dry preparation period with us. He also talked a bit about the assumptions for the ice classes starting at the end of July.

'Everything went according to the plan outlined earlier. It can be said that we have 100% achieved what we set out to do at this stage of the summer preparation period. The second part was certainly harder than the first, but the boys did their job well and we are very pleased with them.'

'As trainers, we look at this type of classes through the prism of physical preparation. Specialist work on the ice will be key and that's where we will actually observe the players in detail. Dry preparation shows one aspect, which is the players' fitness capabilities. This is important, but on-ice training is decisive for a deeper assessment of hockey players. They will provide us with more information about the skills and potential of the squad.'

'As we know, the preparation period outside the ice is very difficult. I realize that for this reason, the players don't like him very much. However, I think that the fact that the boys want to get out on the ice and show themselves to the coaching staff speaks very well of them. This is a positive signal from the team.'

'I certainly feel the need to work. We have now completed the first stage, i.e. dry work, and now, after the holiday and according to schedule, we are entering the ice. This is completely normal, which is why I don't miss hockey activities too much. I'm more interested in seeing the team we'll have in the coming season in action.'

'First of all, we want to look at each player, their skills and potential. During this period, you will certainly have to look for the optimal combination of individual fives. Of course, before the transfers, I had already planned this in my head, but it is important to translate these concepts onto the ice. In addition, we will work on physical preparation on the surface and, of course, tactics. Adjusting the game system to the team, selecting hockey players in special formations, dividing roles in the team - this is a lot of work that needs to be done in August.'

'Before the upcoming season, we have outlined a three-year development strategy for the Club and this first year in this project is the year of selecting players. The team has completely changed its appearance and now our task is to observe the boys and, if necessary, select them so as to reach the optimum level over time. This is our first step in this long-term plan. Ultimately, in the premiere season, we simply want to fight for victory match by match. The team must have this sports spirit, which I will transmit and demand. Cracovia is supposed to be a fighting team, it is supposed to fight with one hundred or even more percent!'
