Tim Wahlgren: It was nice to play in front of Krakow fans for the first time

In the second summer pre-season, Pasy again managed to defeat EC Będzin Zagłębie Sosnowiec. On Wednesday, August 14, Cracovia defeated the Sosnowiec team 1-0, and the decisive goal in the first period was scored by the Club's new addition - Tim Wahlgren. The Swede gave us an interview after the match.

Tim, first of all - congratulations. You finally scored your first goal for Cracovia.

Thank you very much. It's nice that we managed to score our first goal here, in front of the fans.

It was the action of the Swedes. Hannes Johanson played the puck for you, and Alexander Younan and Johan Lundgren were also on the ice at the same time. Good off-ice contact was probably evident during this goal.

Yes. Of my compatriots from earlier years in the game, I already knew Alexander and Oliwier, Anton and the rest from playing opposite each other in Sweden. We stick together here, as a bunch of Swedes. We get along great and you can feel the Swedish chemistry between us. And in fact - today we presented a sample of it at my goal.

How about the match? Was it a better meeting than Friday's?

I think we played a bit more as a team compared to the first match, more together. However, we still have a lot of work to do to make it work properly. Every day we work on many aspects both defensively and offensively. We intend to develop this and take it to a higher level, step by step, with each subsequent meeting.

The score is low, but both sides had opportunities to increase it a bit.

Of course, we had a lot of chances to win higher. Although the opponents also had a lot of great opportunities, the credit goes to Alex, who performed great between the posts today. In the upcoming matches, however, we must deny our opponents opportunities to score goals and use our own. This will be a sign that everything is going in the right direction.

Today you had the opportunity to perform in front of the Krakow audience for the first time. How was it?

I liked it. Even though the arena wasn't full, I could hear the support from the stands. It gave me and the band energy to play. So it was nice to play in front of Krakow fans for the first time.

You also had the opportunity to show your strongest sides. Which of them do you think are the best?

I think I'm mobile in skating. In attack, I can boast about my creativity. I would say that I am quite a versatile player who can both score and help my teammates to score. I will try to bring it here, to Krakow, to contribute to the good performance of the team.

You have been in our city for some time. How do you find your way here?

I really liked this place. It is a much bigger city, like my hometown. It's nice though, I've already discovered some nice restaurants and got to know the area a bit. There are many interesting places to spend your free time here. It's only a little hot in summer, but you get used to it.

Finally, what are your goals – both in the near and distant future?

Of course, my goal is to help Cracow win as many wins as possible. I would also like to develop as a player. I definitely want us to fight for something in the upcoming season and at the end achieve something good for the Club.
